Key milestones in the history of International Walkathon Core
January 18, 1990 - The International Walkathon Core (I.W.C.) was officially founded by Salim Rafsani with the support of eminent personalities of Bangladesh.
At the Starling Point Government Bungalow, Hero Park, Banglabandha, Tetulia, a 42 km walk was completed in just 4 hours, setting a World Record for Continuous Sunrise in a Village.
Organized a 50 km Reverse Marathon in Dhaka under the I.W.C. banner, creating a sensation across the nation.
The International Walkathon in Montreal, Canada, invited I.W.C. to represent Bangladesh globally.
Organized events in 64 districts of Bangladesh, including talent development programs for children aged 3 to 10 years.
Led by trainee Sakib, an 18 km walkathon from Nabinagar Smriti Soudh to Dhaka (33 km) was held to raise awareness about water, soil, and the environment.
Launched the "We Are Time, Food, and Water" campaign, reaching 50 countries worldwide to promote environmental conservation.
With the current Bangladesh government's cooperation, we are seeing renewed hope for success in promoting health, sports, and environmental welfare worldwide.
